Piet Mondrian influenced the course of modern visual culture through his pioneering abstract works defined by geometric grids and primary colours. Although he experimented with a range of styles early in his career, he is most closely associated with the De Stijl movement, founded in 1917 by Theo van Doesburg, for which Mondrian developed the theoretical framework known as Neoplasticism. His grid-based compositions have had a lasting influence on modern design, architecture, and visual systems, shaping approaches to structure and layout across many creative fields. Now, for the first time in the Estate’s history, those iconic works have been officially reimagined.
Doodles, the next-generation entertainment company behind culture-defining collaborations with McDonald’s, Adidas Originals, Kellogg’s, AriZona, and G-SHOCK, has partnered with the Piet Mondrian Estate / Holtzman Trust to create Piet Mondrian x Doodles — a collection of digital collectibles and limited edition physical art prints that bring Mondrian’s legendary geometric compositions to a completely new global audience. The collection has been engineered and brought to market by ElmonX, the pioneering platform for licensed fine art digital collectibles, and drops on OpenSea on 4th June.
This is the first time the Estate has ever approved a collaboration that reimagines Mondrian’s original works. Five of his most celebrated compositions have been reinterpreted through the Doodleverse, Mondrian’s precision meeting Doodles’ colour, character, and playful energy. The structure stays. Five Masterworks, Reimagined
The collection reimagines five compositions that span Mondrian’s career — from his early geometric experiments to his final unfinished masterpiece:
- Composition with Grid 9: Checkerboard Composition with Light Colors, 1919
- Composition with Red, Black, Blue, and Yellow, 1928
- Composition with Red, Blue and Yellow, 1930
- Composition No. 10, 1939–42, with Blue, Yellow, and Red
- Victory Boogie Woogie (unfinished), 1942–44 Mondrian’s final painting, left incomplete at the time of his death in 1944

Piet Mondrian (1872–1944) was a Dutch painter whose work helped shape the course of modern visual culture through his pioneering abstract compositions.
